Causes & Symptoms Dr. Reckeweg Belladonna

• Belladonna is a chief remedy for high temperature, neuralgia and pain, sudden and violent in onset caused due to draught of air, cold wind, uncovering head and exposure to summer sun. There is sudden rise of temperature with red face and throbbing of carotids. Pulse is strong and quick. There is intense burning heat internally and externally. Sweat only on covered parts and on head.
• Belladonna is also helpful in any other inflammatory condition like tonsillitis, appendicitis, conjunctivitis, etc. Head is inclined to bend backward, boring the head into the pillow.
• Belladonna has marked action in headache due to cold or heat of sun, from haircut. Sudden and violent headache. Intense periodical nervous congestive headache. Rush of blood to head with pulsation of cerebral arteries. Jerking headache worse from slight motion, jar, noise light, touch, lying down. Better by tight bandage.
• Belladonna also helps in vertigo caused by stooping or rising after stooping or change of position. Vertigo with tendency to fall left side or backwards. Belladonna also helps in air sickness.
• Belladonna also helps in treating many gastro-intestinal problems. Mouth is dry with or with out thirst. There is tremor and stammering speech. Great dryness of throat with redness and burning, worse on right side. Cervical glands are suddenly inflammed.
• Belladonna is also useful in pain due to gall stones. Tenderness of abdomen, cannot bear slightest touch. Abdomen is painful and distended.
• Belladonna is also useful in skin conditions like boils and acne. It is useful in boils in first stage before pus formation. There is redness, swelling and heat of the part. Skin shows a uniform, smooth, shining scarlet redness. Skin is dry, hot and burning.
• Belladonna acts upon every part of the nervous system, producing active congestion, furious excitement, perverted special senses, twitching, convulsions and pain. It has a marked action on the vascular system, skin and glands.
• Belladonna always is associated with hot, red skin, flushed face, glaring eyes, throbbing carotids, excited mental state, hyperaesthesia of all senses, delirium, restless sleep, convulsive movements, dryness of mouth and throat with aversion to water, neuralgic pains that come and go suddenly. Heat, redness, throbbing and burning.
• Great children’s remedy. Epileptic spasms followed by nausea and vomiting. Goiter swelling of neck with protrusion of eyes.
• Belladonna also corresponds to the symptoms of air-sickness in aviators. Belladonna has no thirst, anxiety or fear. Belladonna stands for violence of attack and suddenness of onset.

Mind 

• – Often emotionally balanced with fits of anger, etc.
• – Senses acute. Sensitive to light, noise, jar.
• – Irritability. Sudden fits of anger.
• – Fear of dogs.
• – Want to hit people, pull their hair, spit, bite.
• – Knocks head against the wall.
• – Attempt to escape; desire to hide.

• – While the retina is insensible to actual objects, a host of visual hallucinations throng about him and come to him from within.

Generalities

Food and drinks

• – Desire:Lemons

Head 

• – Pain  especially in forehead, also occiput, and temples throbbing, hammering , bending forward Better: Cold applications, dark room, pressure, sitting, after cutting hair; due to hormonal changes. Boring of head into pillow; drawn backward and rolls from side to side.
• -Vertigo: Worse turning in bed, moving head.
• – Pain as if head bursts open in hypertension.
• -Sinusitis: sensation of heaviness Worse: slight touch, stooping  Better: hard pressure
• -Cold feet during headache
• – Palpitation reverberating in head with labored breathing
• – Hair splits; is dry and comes out. Headache worse on right side and when lying down; ill effects, colds, etc; from having hair cut.

Eye 

• – Photophobia.
• – Dilated pupils.
• – Throbbing deep in eyes on lying down.
• – Eyes feel swollen and protruding, staring, brilliant; conjunctiva red; dry, burn; shooting in eyes.
• –  Ocular illusions; fiery appearance. Diplopia, squinting, spasms of lids.

Ear 

• – Otitis (ear infection) worse right side; throbbing pain.
• – Menniere’s disease: ringing right ear, Humming noises
• – Tearing pain in middle and external ear.
• – Membrana tympani bulges and injected.
• – Parotid gland swollen. Sensitive to loud tones. Hearing very acute.
• – Otitis media. Pain causes delirium. Child cries out in sleep; throbbing and beating pain deep in ear, synchronous with heart beat.

Nose 

• – Epistaxis (nosebleed):  bright red; with hypertension

Mouth

• – Dry, Throbbing pain in teeth. Gumboil.
• – Tongue red on edges. Strawberry tongue. Tongue swollen and painful.

Face 

• – Red, bluish-red, hot, swollen, shining; convulsive motion of muscles of face. Swelling of upper lip.
• – Acne‚: fiery red, big deep painful boils,  leaving scars
• – Facial neuralgia with twitching muscles and flushed face.

Teeth 

• – Grinding during sleep.

Throat 

• – Tonsilitis aggravation right side.  External throat
• – Dry, as if glazed; angry-looking congestion; red, worse on right side.
• – Tonsils enlarged; throat feels constricted; difficult intake; worse, liquids.
• – Sensation of a lump. Esophagus dry; feels contracted. Spasms in throat. Continual inclination to swallow. Scraping sensation.

Stomach 

• – THIRSTLESS.
• – Pain ext. to back; better by lying on abdomen.

Abdomen 

• – Transverse colon: colitis; protrudes, palpable.

• – Cutting pain across; stitches in left side of abdomen, when coughing, sneezing, or touching it. Extreme sensitiveness to touch, bed-clothes, etc .

Stools

•  – Thin, green, dysenteric; in lumps like chalk. Shuddering during stool.
• – Stinging pain in rectum; spasmodic stricture. Piles more sensitive with backache

Rectum 

• – Hemorrhoids: congested, throbbing, sensitive to touch.

Urine

• – Retention. Acute urinary infections. Urine scanty, with tenesmus; dark and turbid, loaded with phosphates.
• – Incontinence, continuous dropping. Frequent and profuse.
• – Haematuria (Blood  in urine)  where no pathological condition can be found.
• – Prostatic hypertrophy.

Male

• – Testicles hard, drawn up, inflamed.

Female genitalia 

• – Affections of right ovary

• – Metrorrhagia (irregular meses): bright red blood mixed with dark cloths; feels hot.

Cough 

• – BARKING Tickling, short, dry cough; worse at night
• – Drying in nose, fauces, larynx, and trachea. Larynx feels sore.
• – Respiration oppressed, quick, unequal. Cheyne-Stokes respiration
• – Hoarse; loss of voice. Painless hoarseness.
• – Cough with pain in left hip. Barking cough, whooping cough, with pain in stomach before attack, with expectoration of blood. Stitches in chest when coughing.
• – Larynx very painful; feels as if a foreign body were in it, with cough. High, piping voice.

Chest 

• – Mastitis (inflammation of breast glands) worse on right side.

Heart

• – Violent palpitation, reverberating in head, with labored breathing.
• – Palpitation from least exertion. Throbbing all through body.
• – Heart seemed too large. Rapid but weakened pulse.

Extremities 

• – Cold extremities with congested head.
• – Shooting pains along limbs. Joints swollen, red, shining, with red streaks radiating.
• – Shifting rheumatic pains. Jerking limbs. Spasms. Involuntary limping.

Back

• – Stiff neck. Swelling of glands of neck. Pain in nape, as if it would break.
• –  Pressure on dorsal region most painful.
• – Lumbago, with pain in hips and thighs

Sleep 

• – Snoring, talking during sleep.
• – Dreams of falling; wakes suddenly.
• – Position: on abdomen.

Skin 

• – Dry and hot, swollen, sensitive; burns scarlet, smooth

• – Eruption like scarlatina, suddenly spreading; pustules on face.
• – Glands swollen, tender, red. Boils. Acne rosacea.
• – Suppurative wounds. Alternate redness and paleness of the skin.

Fever

• – A high feverish state with comparative absence of toxaemia.
• – Burning, pungent, steaming, heat. Feet icy cold.

Sleep

• – Restless, crying out, gritting of teeth.

• – Screams out in sleep. Sleeplessness, with drowsiness. Starting when closing the eyes or during sleep.

• – Borax, Calcarea carbonica, Carbo vegetabilis, Hepar sulphuricum, Lachasis, Mercurius solubilis, Natrum muriaticum, Silicea, Sulphur, Variolinum.

Modalities

• – Worse, touch, jar, noise, draught, after noon, lying down. Better, semi-erect.

Side effects of Dr. Reckeweg Belladonna

• There are no such side effects. But every medicine should be taken following the rules as given.
• It is safe to take the medicine even if you are on other mode of medication like allopathy medicines, ayurvedic etc.

Dosage and rules while taking Dr. Reckeweg Belladonna

• Take 5 drops in half cup of water three times a day.
• You can also medicate the globules and take 3 times a day or as prescribed by the physician.
• We recommend you to take under physicians guidance.

Precautions while taking Dr. Reckeweg Belladonna 

• Always keep a gap of 15 minutes before or after meals when you take medicine.
